You came here because you are in rush of creating a Win7 Bootable USB. Without wasting your time, following are the instructions.
Step 1 - Format the USB drive from a Vista/Win7 machine:
Step 2 - Activate the first partition on the drive:
Step 3 - Place a Win7 bootsector on the drive:
If you have ISO image of Win7, then make sure you mount this image with Daemon tools or any other of your choice. The purpose is to have Win7 available from CD/DVD drive in unpacked form
Step 4 - Now copy all files from CD/DVD drive (Win7) to the USB drive:
YOUR WIN7 BOOTABLE USB DRIVE IS READY. ENJOY!
Step 1 - Format the USB drive from a Vista/Win7 machine:
- Press Win Key + R, type CMD and press Enter
- On command prompt, type: FORMAT <F>: /FS NTFS (where F: is your USB drive)
Step 2 - Activate the first partition on the drive:
- On command prompt, type: Start DISKPART (A new command prompt window may open)
- In new command prompt, type: LIST DISK
- Type: SELECT DISK <x> (where x is the drive number of USB drive shown from previous command)
- Type: SELECT PARTITION 1
- Type: ACTIVE
- Type: EXIT
Step 3 - Place a Win7 bootsector on the drive:

- On command prompt, type: <Z>: (Z: is your disc media)
- Type: CD \BOOT
- Type: BOOTSECT /NT60 <F>: (F: is your USB drive)
Step 4 - Now copy all files from CD/DVD drive (Win7) to the USB drive:
- On command prompt, type: XCOPY Z:\ F:\ /S/E
YOUR WIN7 BOOTABLE USB DRIVE IS READY. ENJOY!
