Deleting a user in Google Apps Directory was always a piece of cake as it should be, but restoring that user was a tedious job because Google Apps administrator was never given control over restoring a user. Basically, if you were to delete a user, intentionally or non-intentionally, the only way to restore the deleted user was to contact Google support within five days of user deletion and make a request to restore it.
Google is getting better and better by the passage of time and the recent betterment Google has come up with is to letting super administrators restore a deleted user within five days of its deletion. As long the user name of the deleted user is not matching with an existing group name or another active user’s email address or alias. Restoring a user will also not work, if restoring a user exceeds the maximum number of user licenses for your account.
Following is a step by step guide to undelete a user in Google Apps control panel.
1 – Select a user you want to delete and then click Delete users from More actions menu.
2 – Click Delete user button on confirmation message box.
3 – On the right hand side of Organization & user tab, click on Recently deleted users from Active users menu.
4 – Previous action will show you a list of deleted users, now select a user you want to undelete and then click Undelete from Actions menu.
